Yesterday I sent out my daughter to go and fetch the mail.
As I stood at the front door waiting for her to come in I
watched as she stopped and looked at a flowering bush in our front yard. Her eyes lit up as she bent to smell the flowers, touch them and generally take in their beauty.
I was entranced with her ability to stop and literally smell the flowers and take such joy in a small, but beautiful part of her world.
Children are such a precious and wonderful gift to be treasured. Daily their sweet smiles are a subtle reminder that we too need to take time to stop and smell the flowers.
