It's Not Easy Raising A Princess
Many of you have noticed as you read Rebekah Grace The Practically Perfect Princess that quite a bit of this first story focuses on Rebekah's family. Queen Mommy Nicki and I are part of a big family and as sisters knew we wanted our children to have close relationships within the family as well.
In our experience with raising Princesses sometimes our little Princesses had big ideas for how things should happen that didn't necessarily work well for all of the members of the family. We discovered quickly that in order to keep the peace a little re-direction was needed, quite often.

Library Lovin'
My preschooler loves to go to the library. Her favorite part of the visit is to help scan and check out the books. Often though, the line to check out can be long and having her help would make the other patrons in line wait longer than necessary.
I decided I could accomplish two goals with one simple activity by creating her own home library. First we could avoid the worst of the afternoon heat and boredom and work on some school skills as well.
First I created her very own library card. I left the ownership line blank so that she could fill in her own name.

BIG Review
And the good news keeps rolling in. Girliemom just posted their review of the Practically Perfect Princess and it's a great one!
"If you have a little princess in your house, this book is not to be overlooked. The authors do a wonderful job to demonstrate thru their words that even the practically perfect princess is not perfect. We recommend this book for children 1 to 5 yrs+. "
This is huge and we are so grateful to the amazingly talented ladies over at Girliemom for giving The Practically Perfect Princess an opportunity to shine!

Brick and Mortar Surprise
This weekend on a visit to my local Barnes & Noble I found a little surprise peeking out of the bookshelf in the picture books section.
So fun!

If you are looking for a copy remember you can walk in store and get one at Hicklebee's, The U of A Bookstore, the Barnes and Noble located in Tucson, and they are always available online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
For many of our Princesses it is the beginning of summer so get ready for some fun new Princess craft posts sponsored by the Queen Mommies.
Happy Reading!

Children's Book Week
Celebrate reading this week.
Children's Book Week (link) originated in the belief that children's books and literacy are life-changers.
Books really do change lives.
Just this last week the Queen Mommies heard a story about a book we gave to a local non-profit organization that benefits children. Rebekah Grace was given as a birthday gift to a 4 year old Princess who when given the book would not let it go. She was so thrilled to have a book of "her own" and even better to have one about Princesses.
We were also honored to visit our local children's hospital and host a special reading time. We left books for them to give as a special gift to some of their patients. A few months later at a large event with hundreds of little Princesses we met a beautiful Princess who told us how she was given the book during her stay at the hospital. We were pleased to have the opportunity to autograph her now well used book.
Make sure to take some time this week to read to a child, go to the library, visit a book store or donate a book to a child.

Two Weeks and Counting!
Hi everybody,
Sorry to have been MIA recently, but blogging has fallen to the wayside as baby arrival preparations have picked up speed. Besides feet that feel like bricks, a back that may or may not make it through tomorrow, and three other children to wrangle all is going well. Did I mention, only 2 more weeks???? Hurray!!!
Just wanted to update you on a few things. Queen Mommy Nicki and I plan to host several Princess events this spring as well as some fun giveaways and a little internet fun. So stay tuned.
Also, we would love to know if there is a bookstore near you that you think would like to have copies of The Practically Perfect Princess. We have had a very fun year with this debut book and have been tickled pink by the response we have received, but would love to expand the book further and know our Queen Mommy and King Daddy friends have some ideas. Thanks for the love!

Flu and Football
Well there is nothing quite as miserable as a family of 5 down with the flu. Add in an 8 month pregnant matriarch of that family and true bliss can be obtained. Yes, my week in a nutshell.
Anyways, now that we are at least standing upright I wanted to revisit a favorite Princess of mine.
Last year, we introduced you to Princess the camel. Princess has a fabulous knack for picking the winner of the Super Bowl.
Ha! What does a camel know about football you may think? Well, she has picked the winner correctly in seven of the last eight Super Bowls so she does have some type of animal instsincts. Oh boy, am I cracking myself up here.
This year she has picked a Ravens win by her decision to first sample/eat the graham crackers from Zoo Manager John Bergmann's hand that had the Raven's written on it. Now this doesn't mean she didn''t sample a little from the 49ers graham cracker hand as well, but she chose her winner, ate it first and now history will see if she chose correctly.
In my mind graham crackers are always a win and 2 handfuls are definitely better than one.
Happy weekend all !

Another Little Princess
Hello all,
Hope your Holidays have been filled with love, family and all things good. Sometimes this time of year can be a bit overwhelming and we quite often look forward to a new year filled with new possibilities and opportunities. I know I am!
Now, in preparation for this event we have a little preschool Princess in our home named Rebekah who we will need to get used to the idea that she will have to share her crown with another little Princess. Get ready for some hilarity and fodder for new books to ensue.

We have been so excited by the response the book has received along with the hundreds and hundreds of people who have shown up to our Princess Palooza parties. Thank you! New Practically Perfect Princess Review and Giveaway!
Read the newest review of the Practically Perfect Princess from Michelle at Mama's Baby Cupcakes and then make sure to head on over to her site for a chance to win a Practically Perfect Princess tee shirt!
This is a great book for little girls because it talks about manners, helping out, and listening to your parents.
Madison loves this book so much. We've read it almost every day since we first got it in the mail a month ago. She's to the point now where she can "read" the book herself because she has it memorized.
It's not a really long book which is also nice because kids don't have a long attention span, but just long enough to get the point of the book across and keep your child entertained.
I also really like the illustrations. Rebekah Grace is quite the cutie pie, and she pops out of each page as the main feature so she's easy to spot.
Madison is already asking me when their next book will come out because the last page.
Madison went to preschool last year and is doing an advanced kind of pre-k this year so she loves anything about schools so the thought of a book about Rebekah Grace going to school makes her giggle
You can also get this cute shirt to go with the book! This shirt just makes the book that much better! When Madison opened the package and this shirt fell out, she was thrilled! She immediately wanted to try it on and prance around in it.
The only thing is that Madison tugs on this little piece of tulle that is sewn on to the shirt. I love this little effect because it adds that extra flair to the shirt and it washes great as well.
Overall, I highly recommend this book and shirt for the little princess in your life!
